SUMIA ABDUL-MATIN · MPS, RP (QUALIFYING)
Relational, trauma-informed psychotherapy for the moments when insight alone hasn’t brought relief. Together, we can make space for feelings, relationships, identity, and the experiences that have shaped you.

01 / THE INVITATION
You may have thought carefully about your past, your relationships, or the way you respond to stress. Yet some reactions still seem to return, even when you know where they began.
Therapy can offer space to slow down and attend to what is happening beneath those patterns—with curiosity, compassion, and respect for your experiences and values.
02 / WHAT BRINGS YOU HERE
Explore anxiety, emotional reactions, self-criticism, and patterns that are difficult to shift.
Make space for grief, stress, trauma, and times of change, without having to explain everything at once.
Consider relationship patterns, attachment experiences, trust, communication, and belonging.
Reflect on the ways family, culture, faith, and life experiences influence your sense of self.

03 / THE PERSON BEHIND THE PRACTICE
For me, therapy begins with listening closely—not only to the experiences you can describe, but also to the feelings that may be harder to put into words.
I offer relational, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive psychotherapy. My work pays attention to how early connections, important relationships, and significant experiences can shape what we feel and how we relate to others.
My approach is grounded in Emotion-Focused Therapy and attachment-based psychotherapy. Depending on your needs, I also draw from CBT-informed and existential approaches. My background in Spiritual Care allows us to explore faith, culture, spirituality, and meaning if you would like those conversations to be part of therapy.
04 / THE WAY WE WORK
Our sessions can move beyond what is happening on the surface. With an emotion-focused and attachment-informed foundation, we can explore how feelings, relationships, and lived experience interact—at a pace shaped by your needs.
